Cruise Cabin Options for a Family of 4 or 5

By The Fathom Fares Team · Published Aug 29, 2026 · Updated Oct 7, 2026 · Cabins and Staterooms

For four people, compare a cabin approved for four with two cabins. For five, look for a category approved for five or a suitable pair of rooms. Get both options quoted for your actual ages and dates; a larger cabin is not automatically cheaper.

Examples of cabins that sleep five

These are room examples checked in October 2026, not confirmation that a five guest cabin is available on your sailing. You do not necessarily need a suite to fit five.

Royal Caribbean: its current booking guidance says rooms for five or more cannot be booked on its website. Contact its booking team for the available categories and a quote. An online limit of four guests does not prove the ship has no larger room.

Check the beds and layout

Confirm the exact room's maximum occupancy and sleeping arrangement, including sofa beds or upper berths. Give every guest's age, including infants, and ask about cot space and any berth restrictions.

Look at the layout with the extra beds in use. Storage, bathroom access and floor space can matter more than the category name. Photos of an empty room may not show the nightly arrangement.

Compare two rooms

A pair can provide separate sleeping space and another bathroom. Adjacent cabins are not the same as rooms with an internal connecting door. Confirm the actual connection before paying.

Check the line's rules for minors and room assignments before putting children in a separate cabin. For departures from North America, Royal Caribbean allows a parent or legal guardian exception for children in connecting, adjacent or directly opposite rooms opening to the same hallway. Confirm that your selected pair meets the rule; other lines have their own conditions.

If a connection is required, select and confirm the actual pair rather than relying on a guarantee assignment. Check both room numbers and categories on the confirmation.

Get a complete family quote

Compare quotes for the same dates, ages and fare benefits. For five people using two cabins, quote the actual split, such as two guests in one and three in the other. Do not multiply a two guest starting fare by four or five.

Include every guest's taxes and fees, deposits, cancellation charges and any required packages. Check children's fare offers against the exact room arrangement and dates. For example, Royal Caribbean's Kids Sail Free offer has age and sailing restrictions, and taxes, fees and port expenses still apply to all guests.
