A guarantee cabin means you book an eligible category or category group and let the cruise line assign the actual room under its terms. You give up location choice. Compare its quote with a selected room; a guarantee is not automatically cheaper and does not promise an upgrade.

Read the category definition

Check what the offer guarantees, including view and occupancy. Royal Caribbean's current FAQ says some guarantee assignments may have obstructed views, and certain balcony guarantees on Oasis or Icon Class can be neighborhood facing. Do not assume a balcony offer guarantees an unobstructed ocean view.

A line's guarantee category is not always interchangeable with a specific room category you previously priced. Compare the description, benefits and booking conditions as well as the headline fare.

Know what you cannot choose

The room's deck, position and distance from venues may be outside your control. Room assignment timing varies; confirm the applicable rule rather than counting on an early assignment or a move aboard.

If a certain location is required for accessibility, motion sensitivity or your family's room arrangement, arrange it directly with the line. Do not rely on a request attached to a guarantee to meet a requirement.

Compare the actual saving

Calculate the total difference for your party against a selected room you would accept. Keep included benefits and cancellation conditions consistent. A possible upgrade has no certain cash value before it is assigned.
