Oasis Class Ships Compared

By The Fathom Fares Team · Published Aug 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 5, 2026 · Cruise Line Deep Dives

The six operating Oasis class ships are Oasis, Allure, Harmony, Symphony, Wonder and Utopia of the Seas. They share the Central Park and Boardwalk neighborhood design, but renovations, suites, dining and sailing length can change which one suits you. Check the current ship, not a tour filmed before its latest refurbishment.

Oasis and Allure

Oasis and Allure introduced the class in 2009 and 2010. Both have received major updates since then. Do not judge their facilities entirely by their age, and do not assume an older ship must have the lowest fare.

For either, compare the actual cabin, current dining list and itinerary with the newer sisters. A useful saving is one that leaves you with the route and facilities you want. A discounted cruise to ports you do not want is a different tradeoff.

Harmony and Symphony

Harmony entered service in 2016 and Symphony in 2018. Harmony received its Royal Amplified update for summer 2026, so an older restaurant or lounge list can mislead you. Royal now highlights its changed dining lineup and enlarged casino. Use the post renovation deck plan to check what is next to your room.

Symphony remains another option for the class's large entertainment and activity spaces. Compare the named productions and restaurants on your sailing rather than assuming they match Harmony. A close gross tonnage comparison does not answer which ship has the better holiday for your group.

Wonder and Utopia

Wonder, introduced in 2022, added the dedicated Suite Neighborhood to Oasis class. Suite buyers should compare the benefits of their exact category, while guests in ordinary cabins should not count restricted suite areas as public space they can use.

Utopia, introduced in 2024, is the newest operating Oasis class ship. Its Port Canaveral program emphasizes short trips, and Royal Railway, Utopia Station is a distinctive dining experience to price separately. A short voyage gives fewer days to fit in a ship this large; it may still suit a limited holiday better than a full week.

Compare actual departure dates and nights on both ships. Homeports and schedules change, so the class name or an old brochure cannot establish your boarding address. Our cruise length guide explains the time and cost tradeoff.

Cabin choice can matter more than sister ship

Central Park and Boardwalk balconies face inside the ship. They do not provide the same outlook or privacy as an ocean facing balcony. Check the cabin category and view before comparing prices. Our cabin type guide helps keep the comparison consistent.

Trace the route from your cabin to your usual venues. Consider noise from entertainment, pools and service areas, using the cabin location checklist. For adults, inspect the exact Solarium layout rather than assuming every sister has an identical pool.

Passenger reactions to Harmony's changes vary. Use recent reviews to identify specific questions about layout or venues, not to conclude a refurbishment automatically improves or ruins the whole ship. For newer water attractions and a different family layout, compare the Icon class alternatives at the same total budget.

How these examples are calculated

One lowest eligible advertised cabin fare per sailing; USD per person with taxes included, based on two guests sharing one cabin. Observations must be no more than two days old. Examples are the lowest matching totals in our catalog, not a claim about the entire market. Prices are rounded in our website export; availability and optional extras require confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Which Oasis class ship is newest?

Utopia of the Seas, introduced in 2024, is the newest currently operating sister. Its short Port Canaveral itineraries may be more important to your choice than its age. Compare the actual nights, route and cabin before treating a lower total on a shorter voyage as better value.

Has Harmony of the Seas been updated?

Yes. Royal Caribbean describes Harmony as newly Amplified for its 2026 program, including changes to dining and casino spaces. Check a current deck plan and venue list. Reviews or walkthroughs from before that refurbishment may show rooms or public spaces that have changed.

Does every Oasis class ship have the same Solarium pool?

No. The Solarium layout and facilities vary by ship. If an adult pool is central to your holiday, inspect the exact current deck plan and feature description. The presence of a Solarium does not establish that every sister offers an identical swimming pool.
