Celebration Key Guide

Celebration Key is Carnival’s private destination on Grand Bahama, with included beach and lagoon areas plus optional paid upgrades. The useful budget detail is food: Island Eats gives each guest one eligible meal, not unlimited meals everywhere. Carnival’s onboard Cheers package does not cover drinks here. You can enjoy the day without a cabana or a beach club pass, but plan food and drinks separately.

Choose the part of the destination you want

Starfish Lagoon is the family area. Calypso Lagoon is aimed at adults and includes areas reserved for adults. Pearl Cove Beach Club is a separate paid retreat for guests aged 18 and over. An adults area and an included area are not interchangeable terms; check the map and the exact pass before buying.

For a simple day, start with the included beach or lagoon and identify shade, bathrooms and the return route. A cabana makes sense if guaranteed space is worth the price to your group, not because you need one to enter the destination.

How Island Eats works

Carnival currently offers one complimentary eligible meal at fast casual locations, or 40 percent off one entree at participating full service restaurants. Use the current Island Eats list and check exclusions, including Pearl Cove, before ordering. Do not assume every item or every restaurant is included.

Bring your Sail & Sign card, a payment card and some cash as Carnival recommends. Drinks and extra food can add up quickly across a family. Decide whether you want to buy another meal ashore or return to the ship within its operating hours.

Should you buy a beach club pass?

Read the pass inclusions, guest limit and age rules. Compare basic entry with packages that add drinks or dining, rather than assuming the most expensive package fits your day. A couple planning several hours in one quiet area has different needs from a family moving between activities.

Recent passenger discussions show different opinions on whether the paid areas justify their price. Treat those as personal experiences. For your decision, use the current total for your party, the scheduled port hours and how much time you realistically expect to spend there.

Practical checks before getting off

The Celebration Key fare page shows covered sailings calling here. Our CocoCay guide explains a different inclusion model; onboard credit and extra cruise costs help you compare the full spend.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Cheers at Celebration Key?

Carnival’s onboard Cheers package does not apply at Celebration Key. Check any island or beach club package separately, including its drink limits and where it works. Paying for Cheers on the ship does not make an island bar order complimentary. Budget drinks into the total day cost.

Is all food included at Celebration Key?

No. Island Eats provides one eligible meal, or a discount on an eligible full service entree under the current rules. Other purchases can cost extra. Check the participating venues and your remaining entitlement before ordering, rather than expecting the unlimited included dining available on the ship.

Do I need a Pearl Cove pass to have a beach day?

No. Included beach and lagoon areas provide a day ashore without a beach club purchase. Pearl Cove is a paid option for guests aged 18 and over. Check the exact package if you want its facilities, since entry, dining and drink inclusions can differ.
