Where Do Cruises From Port Canaveral Go?

By The Fathom Fares Team · Published Aug 29, 2026 · Updated Sep 5, 2026 · Cruising From US Home Ports

Port Canaveral cruises sail to the Bahamas and Caribbean. Short Bahamas trips can include Nassau and a cruise line's private destination; longer voyages reach eastern or western Caribbean ports. Choose by the named stops and time ashore, then plan the road transfer from your airport or Orlando hotel.

Short Bahamas trips

Three and four night sailings give you a short trip with limited vacation days. Royal Caribbean's Port Canaveral lineup includes Bahamas and Perfect Day at CocoCay itineraries. Other lines use different private destinations, so the port of departure alone does not tell you which beach stop you get.

A private destination is not the same as every activity being included. Our CocoCay guide explains the distinction for that stop; read the daily itinerary before treating an island day as part of your booking.

Longer Caribbean routes

Eastern itineraries can visit islands such as St Thomas or Puerto Rico, while western itineraries can include Cozumel and other ports toward Mexico and Central America. The eastern versus western Caribbean comparison helps you choose the places you want to visit.

Count sea days and port hours instead of choosing only by cruise length. An extra night might add another destination, a longer stay or another day at sea. A short sailing on a large ship can also leave little time to try everything aboard.

Pairing the cruise with Orlando

Port Canaveral is on the coast, separate from Orlando's airports and theme parks. An MCO area hotel suits a late flight; Cape Canaveral or Cocoa Beach lets you finish the drive to the coast before sailing day. A theme park stay needs its own hotel to port transfer.

Compare a hotel stay plus airport coach with a direct hotel transfer, using the actual pickup point and your group's luggage. Our Port Canaveral arrival guide covers airport alternatives, parking charges and return transport.

Comparing departures

Use the Port Canaveral fare page to compare the sailings we cover. If another Florida airport has better flights, compare the same destination from Miami before committing to the Orlando transfer. Include hotels and ground transport in that comparison.

These are advertised cruise fares, not a booking quote or a full trip budget. The agent must confirm availability, fare terms and the final price; travel, insurance, gratuities and optional extras may cost more.

How these examples are calculated

One lowest eligible advertised cabin fare per sailing; USD per person with taxes included, based on two guests sharing one cabin. Observations must be no more than two days old. Examples are the lowest matching totals in our catalog, not a claim about the entire market. Prices are rounded in our website export; availability and optional extras require confirmation.

Frequently asked questions

Do all Port Canaveral cruises visit a private island?

No. The exact itinerary decides whether a private destination is included and which one it is. Cruise lines use different stops, and some voyages omit them. Look for the named destination in the daily schedule and check what is included there, since activities and upgraded beach areas may cost extra.

Can I combine a cruise with Orlando theme parks?

Yes. Allow separate time and transportation for the theme park hotel and the port on the coast. A cruise transfer sold from MCO may not collect you from your chosen hotel. If the parks come first, finish that stay with enough time to reach the terminal during your assigned arrival window.

Is a short Bahamas cruise a good first trip?

It can suit a traveler who wants a few nights away without using a full week of leave. The tradeoff is less time to explore the ship and ports. Compare the daily schedule and total price, including airport transfers, with a longer sailing before assuming the shortest cruise gives you the best value.
