Book when a confirmed fare fits your budget and the available cabin, dates and terms meet your needs. Booking earlier can give you a chance to select currently available space; waiting may bring a lower fare, a higher fare or less choice. There is no universal cheapest weekday or number of months ahead established here.
Start with what you cannot change
If you need a particular school holiday, accessible room or connected family pair, compare offers while those options are available. Do not substitute a fixed rule such as booking exactly a year ahead for checking the actual inventory and quote.
If your dates and room choices are flexible, you can compare more departures. That increases your options; it does not guarantee a late discount. See the last minute cost comparison.
Keep a consistent price record
Track the same ship, departure, guests, cabin, currency and benefits. Use the tracking checklist rather than comparing unrelated headline fares. Set a total you can afford, including travel and extras.
Check any discount eligibility before paying. A public starting fare may not be the correct quote for your group.

How these examples are calculated
One lowest eligible advertised cabin fare per sailing; USD per person with taxes included, based on two guests sharing one cabin. Observations must be no more than two days old. Examples are the lowest matching totals in our catalog, not a claim about the entire market. Prices are rounded in our website export; availability and optional extras require confirmation. Historical comparisons use the most recent 90 observation days and require the same sailing, frozen itinerary, cabin, selected fare/category codes, captured terms and tax basis, observed at least seven days apart within 90 days of departure. Incomplete runs, unknown terms and legacy metadata are excluded. Only offers observed available on both dates qualify; sold-out offers are absent from this comparison.
Understand the commitment
Get the deposit terms, final payment date and cancellation schedule in writing. They vary by line, market and booking. A final payment deadline is not a prediction of when prices will drop.
Ask what happens if a comparable price falls after booking. Repricing may change the benefits or terms, and cancelling to rebook can have penalties. Do not assume another passenger's result applies to your reservation.
Compare the full travel cost
