What Is Included on Virgin Voyages?

Virgin Voyages includes restaurant dining, standard drinks without alcohol, wifi, entertainment and group fitness classes. Alcohol, specialty coffee, excursions and daily gratuities can still cost extra. The wifi tier, booking flexibility and some credits depend on your fare, so two cabins on the same ship can have different benefits.

What comes with the fare

Standard restaurant meals do not carry the cover charges common at other lines' specialty venues. Some premium dishes and special experiences cost extra, and included dining does not guarantee any restaurant at your preferred time. Check reservation openings for your fare.

Still and sparkling water, soda, drip coffee and tea are included. Alcohol, specialty coffee and fresh pressed juices are normally paid purchases unless a promotion, fare or suite benefit covers them. Compare this with specialty restaurant charges on the other cruise you are considering.

Gratuities changed in October 2025

Virgin's ticket contract preserves included gratuities for bookings created through October 6, 2025, but applies the newer rules to new or modified bookings from October 7. Its current FAQ lists $20 per Sailor per night prepaid or $22 charged onboard.

For two people on a seven night voyage, that is $280 prepaid or $308 onboard. The contract says prepaid gratuities become nonrefundable once onboard; the onboard daily amount can be adjusted at Sailor Services before disembarkation. Virgin says drinks, dining and spa purchases do not receive another gratuity.

Wifi is included at different levels

For standard cabins under the current fare system, Base and Lock It In include Basic wifi for one device per person. Essential includes Classic for one device. Premium includes Premium wifi for two devices per person. Suite arrangements differ, so read the confirmation instead of transferring a standard cabin comparison to RockStar or Mega RockStar.

More connections or a streaming plan does not guarantee uninterrupted calls. If working during the trip, check your needs against the limits of working at sea.

Bar Tab and delivery

Virgin uses Bar Tab credit rather than a conventional unlimited alcohol package. You may share purchases made from that credit, but unused Bar Tab is not refunded. Promotional credit amounts and eligibility can change; do not count a past offer as a permanent inclusion.

The dining FAQ currently lists a $10 ShipEats delivery fee, waived when ordered items total at least $10 or for RockStar Quarters. Check the ordering screen for the charge and eligible paid items.

Compare what you would actually buy

Add daily gratuities, likely drinks, premium meals, excursions, spa treatments and transport to each competing quote. Do not automatically add a rival line's drink package and multiple specialty dinners if you would not buy them. Our full trip budget guide keeps those assumptions visible.

Virgin welcomes guests aged 18 and over. That removes children's programming from the comparison, but does not promise a quiet ship; nightlife and entertainment remain part of the product. Recent Reddit discussion about prepaid gratuities shows why an older review's inclusion list can mislead even when its account of the ship is useful.
