The White Pass railway is a useful starting point if you want scenery and gold rush history in Skagway. Choose the exact excursion before booking: a summit round trip, a train and coach combination, and a Yukon visit have different timings and document requirements.

White Pass Summit Excursion

The railway's current Summit Excursion is a 40 mile round trip lasting approximately 2.5 to 2.75 hours. The operator says no passport is required for that excursion. Do not apply that exception to a different train and coach or cross border tour.
