In Ketchikan, choose between time in town, Alaska Native cultural sites, a boat trip or flightseeing. Start by checking your berth: a Ward Cove arrival requires extra transport time before a downtown activity.

Creek Street and the Totem Heritage Center offer options for a town based day. Totem Bight and Saxman are separate destinations; check their transport, admission and tour arrangements rather than treating every totem site as an interchangeable free stop.

Misty Fjords

Misty Fjords can be visited on boat or flightseeing excursions. These are different products: compare travel time, time at the destination, landing arrangements if any, mobility requirements and facilities. A short flight is not equivalent to a longer boat trip.

Read weather cancellation and refund terms before booking. If a flight is canceled, a replacement boat trip may be full or too long for the remaining port call.

Boat tours, fishing and wildlife

Check what the specific operator includes, whether any required license is included, and how catch handling works if you book fishing. Treat wildlife viewing as an opportunity rather than a guaranteed sighting. Ask about boat access, toilets and sheltered seating if those affect your choice.

Allow for Ward Cove

Ward Cove's published shuttle guidance estimates about 20 minutes driving each way to Berth IV. It asks passengers with appointments to allow at least 30 minutes to reach downtown, plus about 15 minutes to walk from Berth IV to the town center. Those are planning estimates, not a guaranteed queue or journey time.

Check the last return shuttle and your ship's all aboard time. A tour's duration alone does not include every transfer from your berth.
