Best Adults Only Cruise Ships

Virgin Voyages accepts guests aged 18 and older across its fleet. Oceania also now accepts only adults for new bookings, but honors some earlier reservations with children during its transition. If you require a ship without children, check the full passenger age policy, not merely an adults only pool advertisement.

Virgin's four ships

Scarlet Lady, Valiant Lady, Resilient Lady and Brilliant Lady are all adults only. Their layouts are related, but restaurants, entertainment and itineraries differ. Brilliant Lady's published program includes Alaska; the line is not limited to warm weather party cruises.

Adult age limits do not guarantee silence. Virgin advertises live music, parties and adult entertainment. Recent passenger discussions contain different opinions about music volume and longer voyage atmosphere. Check cabin location and the type of evening you want, rather than assuming no children means no noise.

Review Virgin's fare inclusions. Internet tiers, premium experiences and the booking date rules for gratuities affect the total.

Oceania's transition

Oceania announced an adults only policy for new reservations from January 7, 2026. Its current terms honor existing bookings with guests under 18 made before that date through the 2026 departure year. A 2026 sailing can therefore still have children whose reservations were protected.

Oceania offers a different ship and dining product from Virgin. Compare the actual route, fare inclusions and entertainment rather than treating both lines as interchangeable because new guests must be adults.

Other adult policies

Viking's published booking conditions require guests to be at least 18 at embarkation. It is another option to research if its itineraries suit you, though Fathom Fares does not currently track Viking fares. Do not substitute an older average passenger age for a stated age restriction on another line.

Adult areas on family ships

• Carnival's Serenity is included and restricted to ages 21 and older. The facilities differ by ship; do not assume every Serenity has a pool.
• Royal Caribbean offers adult spaces such as the Solarium on applicable ships and the Hideaway on Icon class. Check the venue's age rule and actual layout.
• Norwegian's Vibe Beach Club is a paid area for adults 18 and older on ships that have it. A pass is a separate purchase, not a benefit of every ordinary balcony cabin.

A restricted deck does not make restaurants, corridors and theaters child free. Check access costs, hours and the distinction between a ship venue and a paid beach area ashore.

Choose by the trip you want

For a honeymoon, friends' trip or solo holiday, compare dining, entertainment, cabin design and port time. There is no age policy that guarantees compatible fellow passengers. If traveling alone, use a one person quote and the solo cabin comparison.
